I spent some time last year asking highly engaged volunteers and donors two questions: what is Give Big? What is Giving Tuesday? Despite the fact that both are considered to be widely recognized days of giving, very few of our highly engaged connections were able to provide an answer. This information led to the theme of our campaign for the year; what is it, and why are we doing it.
Harnessing the power of social media for large-scale fundraising events like Giving Tuesday requires a strategic mix of compelling storytelling, audience engagement, and data-driven decision-making. At Vision House, I developed and executed digital fundraising campaigns to boost online donations and engagement. By leveraging platform-specific strategies across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, I crafted high-converting content, including impactful donor stories, engaging visuals, and persuasive call-to-actions. Through targeted paid ads, influencer collaborations, and optimized posting schedules, I helped increase Giving Tuesday contributions and overall donor reach. A/B testing and analytics tracking allowed for real-time adjustments, ensuring maximum ROI and donor retention. My approach transforms one-day giving events into long-term donor relationships, strengthening nonprofit impact year-round.
